Small Crush / Gumby’s Junk / Career Woman / LoserLees @ 924 Gilman - 02.25.23
This Sold-Out show was packed with amazing performances and electrifying energy that made for one hell of a night at the venerated Berkeley venue. Gumby’s Junk kicked off the show with an all-out assault of experimental rock in which intense bursts of complex rhythms and melodies gave way to lush soundscapes and angelic multi-part harmonies - this time bringing on a saxophonist to add to their sound! . Following them, Career Woman took the stage to deliver some hard-hitting indie rock in a fantastic set that got the crowd moving. After, LoserLees cranked it up a notch with their high-energy blend of surf punk and post-punk that set the mood perfectly for the main act: Small Crush. There was endless excitement for the bay-area natives to take the stage and they did not disappoint. The band played for over and hour and a half with songs all across their discography with a performance that had the crowd moshing, dancing, singing, and screaming for more. Onstage, the members of the band were full of joy and energy, never missing a beat. Their set was the perfect end to an already amazing night at Gilman!
